My twist on the
traditional vermicelli kheer is that I have added jaggery instead of regular
white sugar to make it more healthy and tasty. Jaggery has iron content making
nutritious than the white sugar. This is simple and easy to make kheer for
evening snacking.
Vermicelli Kheer / Semiya Kheer
No. of Serving : 5
Ingredients
Small thin vermicelli
/ semiya - 1 packet
Milk - 2 cups
Water - 1 cup
Jaggery - 1 cup
Preparation
Method
1. Melt jaggery with little water, bring it to a
boil and filter it. Keep aside.
2. In a pan, bring water and milk to a boil, add
the vermicelli / semiya and cook it done.
3. Add filtered jaggery and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Garnish with nuts and raisins fried in ghee.
